The Healthy Products Guide is a list of natural household cleaning products and beauty/personal care products that are free of toxins either suspected or known to be harmful to humans, including phthalates (plasticizers), methylparabens and other parabens (thickeners), and lauryl sulfate (foamers). These toxins enter the body through the skin, and can be avoided by purchasing the wonderful natural products that do not use them. Another section of this guide lists healthy, natural food substitutes for the two most addictive and acidic food products sold in the US : white refined sugar and coffee. These natural substitutes do not contain aspartame, a man-made food product that, like hydrogenated oils , is commonly found in packaged and fast foods that are ingested, but which the human body cannot break down and absorb safely. Because white refined sugar is ubiquitous in the fast food and packaged food industry, many people are addicted to it. Do a detox program if you think you are addicted to sugar and/or coffee (both of which make your body extremely acidic and create an internal bioterrain ripe for illness). Also to remove pesticides from your daily food source, buy organic, ideally from local farmers at your neighborhood farmers' market or from food coops or whole food stores. Avoid toxins in your home by informing yourself about safe and natural ways to control insects, clean carpets without leaving a residue, etc.

If you're wondering why all these known and potential toxins are in our food supply and household products, send your queries to the Food and Drug Administration, the office that should be regulating industry on our behalf. In the meantime, the burden falls on each of us to make healthy choices when we purchase products and services.
