Yoga in quarantine

Hello everyone, in the last few weeks our lifestyle has been profoundly transformed by the spread of CoronaVirus.We are facing scenarios that were unimaginable until a few days ago and that require considerable adaptability. Unfortunately, we are forced to stay in our homes with limited possibilities to go out.We have had to give up many daily freedoms that we have always given for guaranteed.At the same time, we are aware that all the efforts we are making are temporary and aimed at protecting the health of all and especially of the weakest population.

As Yoga practitioners we have the opportunity to implement all the practices we know to rediscover and develop qualities innate in us.We can rediscover the importance of spending more time on meditation and pranayama. Observing the breath and the body during the asanas helps us to focus attention on the present moment by acting as a decongestant element for our mind.We have the opportunity to develop greater compassion towards our relatives, our near and far friends.

We can dedicate our practices, our breaths, our mantras with all our heart.We can make each practice an opportunity to ‘pacify’ the world around us, starting from ourselves.

The event we are writing together is the most powerful example of connection and interdependence.Every gesture we make at this moment has a profound effect on the future: it can preserve our life and that of others or put it at risk.Let us therefore observe the sense of responsibility that has been given to us and make ourselves fully charged.

Sometimes it’s not easy, but let’s remember that we are not alone and that together we can do it.
