Immerse yourself in the nature and in the splendid Gran Canaria sea for a week of total well-being. Yoga, Mindfulness, surfing, hiking and lots of relaxation.

Activities:

Hatha Vinyasa Yoga

We will explore breathing techniques and asanas in order to generate physical and mental strength, all accompanied by a final deep relaxation. Each lesson will be structured based on the needs of the individual participants.

Yin Yoga

The asanas are maintained for longer generally between 2 and 5 minutes, but always on the ground and in total safety.

By holding the positions we allow access to the connective tissue increasing our flexibility. This connection between body and mind allows us to open ourselves to a path of greater freedom of choice and awareness of the present moment.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is an ideal practice for reducing stress, anxiety and insomnia.

Traditionally it has been said that an hour of Yoga Nidra equals to four hours of ordinary sleep. Yoga Nidra practices on this retreat will take place outdoors, in silence, under the starry sky.

Vishoka Meditation

Vishoka Meditation is a complete system of meditation to reclaim your inner joy and train your mind to remain clear, focused, and joyful in all circumstances in life.

Vishoka Meditation offers a precise set of meditative techniques designed to unite mind and breath and turn them inward, allowing us to nourish and rejuvenate ourselves on every level of our being.

The ancient yogis called this state Vishoka and insisted that we all can reach it. The key is a precise set of meditative techniques designed to unite the mind and breath and turn them inward.

Grounded in the authentic wisdom of a living tradition, the simple—yet profound—practice of Vishoka Meditation is the perfect complement to your existing yoga practice, as well as a powerful stand alone meditation practice.

Join Certified Vishoka Meditation® Teacher, Riccardo De Paolis, as he skillfully guides you through this tradition-based practice that is accessible to all and so relevant for our modern times.

Mindfulness eating 

We will use some of the breakfasts proposed to explore the awareness of food, its origin and its meaning, deepening psychological and evocative aspect of eating.

Our breakfast will also be organic and vegetarian.

Mindfulness in nature 

We will practice mindfulness in open spaces: along a path, by the sea, in the sand dunes for a deeper connection with the natural environment through increased sensory awareness.

Surf lessons

It will be possible to book group and individual private lessons with qualified surf instructors with whose teaching aligns with the content of the retreat. It will be possible to open up to this experience both physically and in terms of our awareness of the elements of nature and our awareness of ourselves.

Excursions and guided tours

We will explore the local attractions with guided tours and nature walks, the city of Agaete, the lighthouse, the gothic cathedral, the marvelous dunes of Mas Palomas, the home of Christopher Columbus. We will also be able to snorkel in the beautiful Playa de Tufia and visit the old town of Vagueta.

Friday 15th:

11.00 – 13.00: Visit to Playa las Canteras

13.00 – 14.00: Lunch

14.00 – 19.00: Free time surf – beach – relax

16.00 – 19.00: Visit to Mas Palomas Dunes

Tuesday 19th:

Excursions may vary depending on weather conditions. Massages, the vegan cooking class and the surf lessons can be booked for an additional fee.

Teacher:

Riccardo De Paolis: Yoga and MBSR Mindfulness teacher

Riccardo received his Master Degree in Electronic Engineering in 2007, and after 8 years working for a major IT corporation, he decided to change his career. He realized his major passion was in holistic therapies, and pursued training in yoga and therapeutic massage. Riccardo has been practicing Zen meditation and Yoga for over 15 years.

He now teaches Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa, Restorative yoga, Hatha Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation.

He is actually teaching in many Yoga studios and fitness centers in Rome and he also teaches Corporate Yoga for several companies either in Italy and in Europe.

He usually organizes several international Yoga retreats and workshops every year.

His vision is to make yoga accessible for everybody, by giving them options during each class, from the easiest one to the most advanced one.

Riccardo is a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher, having received a Master Degree in Neuroscience and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Protocol at ‘La Sapienza’ University of Rome. He usually leads Mindfulness MBSR protocol and workshops for Corporates.

Riccardo is a Certified Vishoka Meditation Teacher from the Himalayan Institute. Vishoka Meditation is grounded in the authentic wisdom of ancient, yet living, tradition embodied by luminaries including Buddha, Patanjali, and a long line of Siddha masters. Drawing upon both yoga and tantra, Vishoka Meditation shares the essence of ancient source texts including the Yoga Sutra, Lotus Sutra and Shiva Sutra.

Riccardo is a qualified Massage Therapist, having completed the Certificate IV at the New South Whales School of Massage in Sydney.

He is able to effectively perform several massage styles like Swedish, Remedial, Deep Tissue, AromaTherapy, Hot Stones, with a background in Shiatsu Masunaga.

Riccardo loves staying in contact with the nature, go surfing, traveling around the world and creating a positive connection with people and their different cultural background. Diversity and compassion is part of his personal path and for this reason it is also part of each of his classes and treatments.

 
 

Riccardo is a registered Yoga teacher at the Yoga Alliance E-RYT500 – YACEP.

Accommodation:

We provide 7 nights accommodation at Mahalo Healthy House, a spacious house located just  few minutes from the golden beach of Alcailavaneras in the center of Las Palmas.

The house is managed by Alessia Martuscielli, a vegan and vegetarian chef, a writer, photographer and surfer. In the morning we will be welcomed by the flavors and aromas of vegan / organic breakfasts prepared directly with her hands.

Directions:

The house is about 26km from the Gran Canary airport and it can be reached by the bus 60 which leaves directly from the parking lot.

Once you arrive at the Sant’Elmo main station stop, the house is only a 5-minutes walk away, on Calle Domingo j Narro 10.

Costs:

7 nights at MahaloHealthyHouse, 8 organic breakfasts, 2 daily Yoga and Mindfulness classes (19 hours total practice), mats and props included, 4 guided tours, 1 closing dinner:

  • Eur 900.00 per person.
  • A reservation requires a deposit of 100€.

The deposit is not refundable, if the booking is cancelled.

The rest of the payment should be paid by the 1st of July.
